We're looking for guest bloggers to enrich the Basecamp Outdoor Gear travel advice repertoire.

If you have ever taken a road trip through the American Southwest, then you know that there's a lot to write home about!

Would you like to share your travel knowledge and experience on our blog? We'd love to hear from you.

How to Submit a Post.

Step 1:

Email us your pitch for a guest post.

We'll get back to you within a few days to let you know if your idea is accepted.

Step 2:

Once your idea is accepted, submit your post to us in a GoogleDoc. Create a separate link for your photos in GooglePhotos. Make sure we have permission to download the photos.

Step 3:

We reserve the right to edit any document as we see fit. We will share the final version of your post with you prior to publishing it. If you agree to our edits, we'll publish it and let you know when it's live.

Step 4:

Once live, please share your post on social media. We'll do the same.

Writing Guidelines.

We don't have too many rules, but we'll definitely vet your content and will reject anything we deem inappropriate. That being said, your post should:

Be short, concise, and to the point. Minimum 800 words. Ideally maximum of 1500 words, but we'll accept longer posts if relevant
Have links to relevant content only! No affiliate links
Include a short bio about yourself, with link back to your site and/or social (if desired)
Include photos, either sourced or your own, with proper credits

Guest Post Topics

Almost any topic that has to do with travel in the American Southwest or camping in general will be accepted. Send us your pitch for a guest post and we'll let you know if it fits.

Here are some examples of topics we like:

Weekend getaways/multi-day road trip itineraries/outdoor activities in or near major cities of the West
Camping how-to guides for beginners or camping hacks that even seasoned campers may not know about
Camping etiquette unique to the American Southwest (dispersed camping, going to the bathroom, etc.)
So much more...! Get creative and let us know what you want to write about
